Went up to the castle today and took my 1,000th picture on the camera - uploaded two shots I was pretty happy with as a result.
My main computer got struck by lightning a few weeks back & it must have weakened some of the circuits so that's out of action atm.
I've been reading some rather good books: "On being a photographer" by Bill Jay and David Hurn which I just finished & I'm now reading their follow-up called "On looking at photographs". Both excellent, excellent reads.
They rarely touch on the technical, except to illustrate points, rather they focus on the practical philosophy of photography. I think I'll do a more extensive post/review once I have finished the second book.
Hmm, what else have I been doing? Well went to Joy & David's Blessing (pagan outdoor thing - it rained a lot). Took a load of photos, of which some I am rather pleased with - I'll sort through and upload the good ones soon [tm]. Made a rather classic (I hope) mistake of switching off AF for some long exposures and forgetting to switch it back on for two hours... eek.
